THE DAILY POST

Welcome to The Daily Post! As the name suggests, this portion of the website is updated daily (right after school) and is designed for you to be able to access what was covered in class, from home. It's a great resource for last minute updates or if you are ever absent or find yourself confused about any specifics about homework, reading, due dates, vocab, etc.

Just consider it one more thing I do to make your life a bit easier...


Tuesday 3/31

LA 10 Honors
-Due: 11-14 Questions for Frankenstein
-Discussed AP with Mr. Jackson
-Opened up the conversation and discussed concerns about college and making the most of your high school career
-Quickly discussed last night's reading

HW:
-Read 15-16 (click here for the questions). Come to class tomorrow, ready to discuss
-There will be a vocab quiz on Thursday
-Finish up your registration packet for Fri



Creative Writing

-Journals: Went back to an earlier prompt and kept going (turned in journals...back tomorrow)
-Due: completed character bullets (stamped these...they will be turned in later this week)
-Chose a character from bullets and began working on placing him/her in a scenario (summer, traffic, stuck on the bridge, oldsmobile)

-Finish up your traffic write for tomorrow
-Get your outside reading book (bring it in for points)

-Broke into small groups and did some quick sharing of reviews. Discussed film as a class
-Began thinking about Frankenstein and did some intro work (drew the creature + discussed preconceived notions about the character/story)

Took a look at the official WASL rubric and the WASL checklist...discussed what the scorers are looking for (we will examine some "scored" essays tomorrow after the vocab quiz).

-Original sonnet due tomorrow at the start of class (14 lines, 10 syllables each, abab/cdcd/efef/gg rhyme scheme, focus your ideas around quatrains and couplets...sonnet should follow the listed format and make sense)
