Welcome to The Daily Post! As the name suggests, this portion of the website is updated daily (right after school) and is designed for you to be able to access what was covered in class, from home. It's a great resource for last minute updates or if you are ever absent or find yourself confused about any specifics about homework, reading, due dates, vocab, etc.

-Quickly reminded everyone that tomorrow you need to have a well-developed plan/structure/backbone of your essay...that is, you need to have more than a traditional web with just a few CDs picked out, but less than a complete rough draft...what that looks like, is up to you. A roughly shaped essay would be ideal. Points however will be awarded for evidence that you've put some time and effort into it.

-Worked on creating a 1-pager that addresses "why" you consider book to be "good/your favorite" (really, this assignment is vague on purpose...the idea is to simply dedicate 1 full piece of paper to answering the question. How you do it, is entirely up to you. Think commentary, quotes, images, symbolism, visual connections, make it all link together, make it make sense, make it colorful, and of course--make it creative. Be prepared to come to class with these on Monday...ready to discuss/share what you did and why you think your chosen piece of literature is so fantastic.

LA 10 Honors
-Due: Chapters 1-6 guiding questions for Eyes
-CD check on chapters 1-6
-Discussed chapters 1-6 (went over questions)
-Handed out AP packet (there's 2 sections)
-Handed out (but didn't get a chance to discuss): Their Eyes Were Watching God...and you assignment...we'll discuss this tomorrow
Creative Writing
-Today was the first day of the semester and we went through a quick intro (real quick...the official one will be in the next few days)
-Jumped right into an in-class write: "Looking at the corner, Sam noticed that another pile had accumulated. There it sat in a messy heap--3ft tall and sweating beneath the pale glow of a December moon..."
-Wrote for about 15 minutes and then jumped into some quick sharing of small sections (everyone shared)
-Answered + discussed a couple of questions regarding that experience/sharing/and any other additional first-day questions

-Quickly discussed last week's essay and went through some quick intros for some of the new folks
-Began watching Animal Farm...critiquing it as we go
-There will be a 3 chunk paragraph on the film's mistakes when we are through
